9:05- 9:20 Calendar Activities - weather activities, and some fun math activities

 9:20-9:50 Language Arts – whole group instruction of reading skills such as; letter names/sounds, concepts of print, rhyming, and sound blending

  9:50-10:20 Centers/Small Groups – Students will be engaged in independent and teacher directed small group activities.  Skills will include phonics, writing, listening, art, etc.

 10:30-11:00 Writing – our goal is for each child to enjoy writing and to begin little by little to understand how to become a better writer

 11:00-11:30 Math – whole group instruction of math skills such as; comparisons, sorting, classifying, numbers, shapes, patterns, measuring, problem solving, addition and subtraction, counting, writing numbers and using calculators.

 11:30-12:30 Recess/Lunch

 12:30-1:00 Science/Social Studies/Character Education – this time is used to discuss topics including holidays, parts of plants, friendship, as well as many other topics

 1:00- 1:50 Literature- literature themes will be used to teach comprehension skills (predicting, identifying characters and setting, etc.) as well as concepts of print. 

 1:50-2:35 Special – Check weekly newsletters for the Special schedule

 2:50- 3:15 Structured Play – students will gain social experiences, practice responsibility, and form peer relations.  Often these play times are teacher directed.
