    HOMEWORK
HOMEWORK-   The May homework packet was missing its first page.  I sent that page home in your child's Falcon Folder.  Hopefully, it will make it home.  If not, let me know!

Scholastic BOOK CLUB-  April/May Orders will be submitted by May 5th.  This will be our last order for the year.  So, please use your coupons before the expire! Reading Fluency
The goal is to improve students reading fluency.  When you receive a fluency paper in your child's folder, have them practice.  Put the timer on 1 minute and have your child read the letters left to right.  See how many letters they can say in 1 minute.  Continue this activity and see if your child can beat their previous time.  If your child has mastered letter naming fluency, try letter sound fluency.  Use the same format except students name the sounds as fast as the can for 1 minute.  These simple 1 minutes drills will help your child be a better reader.  PSF (phoneme sound fluency) is measured by giving the student a word verbally.  They have to segment the word back, for example, I might say the word "back."  They would have to say /b/,/a/,/ck/, to receive 3 points.
